Two days, two skills. Friday trains the ear — listening to the voice and recording it well. Saturday puts the diagnosis to work — blue-laser and other office-based treatments for laryngeal pathology.
Hear It, Fix It follows a patient’s path through the office. A voice problem announces itself first to the ear — and a clinician who listens carefully, and records the voice in a way that can be heard again, arrives at the examination already knowing what to look for.
The second day turns that diagnosis into treatment. Office-based procedures, including blue-laser surgery in the unsedated patient, now let laryngologists treat many laryngeal lesions in the clinic chair. The workshop covers how to choose those patients, prepare them, and carry the procedure through.
Led by James Phillip Thomas, M.D., the workshop keeps the small-group, mentorship-driven format of the 2026 Portland Diagnostic Laryngology Workshop.
The workshop returns to the University Club of Portland, a historic private club in the heart of downtown Portland.
